Week in Review: Wellness and weight loss | Use of AI in fracture detection | Radiation dose management

Dear AuntMinnieEurope Member,

Let’s be honest, it’s really easy for any of us with a sedentary job that involves working from home to get into bad habits and allow our health to suffer.

Head and neck radiologist Dr. Salman Qureshi knows this only too well. He’s bravely shared his story on social media, and by doing so, he hopes to inspire others. This week’s top story is well worth a look.

AI shows great potential as a triage tool for fracture detection, especially in high-demand environments like emergency departments, according to a group of researchers from three large university hospitals in the Netherlands, Germany, and Denmark. Check out the report by my colleague Maryam Payne.

How are radiation dose management systems being used in clinical practice, and what implementation challenges do users face? A large EuroSafe survey provides some much-needed answers.

Judging by this month’s page views, many of you have been enjoying our coverage from the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) 2025 meeting. Another example of the sort of cutting-edge research presented at the congress comes from scientists at University College London who assessed the clinical relevance of synthetic amyloid PET images derived from T1-weighted MRI scans.

Also from ISMRM 2025, we have an article about a Swedish study showing how 4D flow MRI can reflect vascular changes associated with the progression of fibrosis in patients with chronic liver disease.
