Editorial Advisory Board

The AuntMinnieEurope.com Editorial Advisory Board comprises a diverse group of medical imaging professionals who have a wide cross-section of special interests and experience levels. They help to oversee and assist in the direction of AuntMinnieEurope's editorial strategy. Below is a biographical sketch for each adviser.

Miraude Adriaensen

Dr. Miraude Adriaensen, PhD, radiologist, Zuyderland Medical Center, Heerlen, the Netherlands

Dr. Miraude Adriaensen has been a staff radiologist at the Zuyderland Medical Center since 2009. She is past chair of the ESSR educational committee (2018-2021) and a member of the ESSR Executive Committee since 2021 (currently as secretary general). She is scientific director and main reviewer of the Accreditation Council in Imaging (ACI).

Dr. Saif Afat is managing senior physician at the University Hospital of TĂĽbingen. He qualified in medicine in 2014 at Friedrich-Wilhelms-University of Bonn, and after training in neuroradiology at RWTH Aachen University, he began his residency in December 2016 at Tuebingen. He is chairperson of the ESR's Radiology Trainees Forum Subcommittee.

Thomas Beyer

Thomas Beyer is a professor of physics of medical imaging and deputy head of the Center for Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering at the Medical University of Vienna. He is past president of the European Society for Hybrid, Molecular and Translation Imaging (ESHIMT). He holds a doctorate in physics and is co-developer of the first combined PET/CT system worldwide.


Arturo Chiti

Arturo Chiti is professor in diagnostic imaging and radiotherapy, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, Vita-Salute San Raffaele University and director of the Department of Nuclear Medicine, IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele. He is also editor in chief at the European Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging and past president of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine.

Dr. Neelam Dugar, consultant radiologist, Doncaster Royal Infirmary, U.K.

Dr. Neelam Dugar is a consultant radiologist and clinical PACS lead at the Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals in the U.K. She is chair of the Royal College of Radiologists' Radiology Informatics Committee, which produced a 2021 report on "Integrating artificial intelligence with the radiology reporting workflows."

Dr. Elisabetta Giannotti, consultant breast radiologist, Cambridge Breast Unit, Addenbrooke's Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, U.K.

Dr. Elisabetta Giannotti has worked as a consultant radiologist since 2015, having previously been at the Nottingham Breast Institute City Hospital. She completed her radiology residency at the University Hospital of Florence, Italy. She is a founding member of the European Society of Breast Imaging (EUSOBI) Young Club.

Girometti Rossano

Dr. Rossano Girometti, associate professor radiology, University Hospital, Udine, Italy

Dr. Rossano Girometti is an associate professor of radiology at the University of Udine in Italy. He is also one of the deputy editors of European Radiology. His main field of interest is body MRI, with special emphasis on prostate, genitourinary, breast, and gynecologic imaging.

Dr. Barbora Horehledova, radiology & nuclear medicine resident, Zuyderland Medical Center, Heerlen, the Netherlands

Dr. Barbora Horehledova has been a radiology & nuclear medicine resident at Zuyderland Medical Center since 2020. She is chair of the ESSR Young Club and a program director of the ESSR Webinars. She did her medical studies at Charles University, Prague, and was a clinical skills teacher for general medicine at Maastricht University from 2018 to 2020.

Dr. Syed Junaid is a consultant radiologist, Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend, U.K. He is the founder of RadJobs, a U.K. radiology jobs website. He graduated in medicine from Imperial College London and is an elected member of the Royal College of Radiologists' (RCR) International Committee. He also represented Wales on the RCR's Trainees' Forum.

Christiane Kuhl 2025

Dr. Christiane Kuhl is professor and head of radiology at University Hospital RWTH Aachen. She was awarded a gold medal by the International Society of MR in Medicine in 2015, and was president of the 104th German Congress of Radiology, RöKo 2023. She is president of EUSOBI.

Andrea Laghi 2025

Dr. Andrea Laghi, professor of radiology, department of radiological sciences, Sapienza University of Rome, Italy

Dr. Andrea Laghi is a professor of radiology at Sapienza University of Rome and director of the CT and MRI unit at Polo Pontino, Latina, which forms part of Sapienza. He is head of the Public Affairs Group of the European Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology (ESGAR) and a member of the ESGAR Executive Committee.

Emil L

Emil Ljungberg, PhD, Clinical Scientist in MRI, Philips, Lund, Sweden

Emil Ljungberg holds a PhD in neuroimaging physics from King’s College London and was previously a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Medical Radiation Physics, Lund University, Sweden. He now works as a clinical scientist in MRI for Philips, supporting sites in the Nordic Countries. His main research interests are quantitative parameter mapping and rapid imaging sequences.

Dr. Catherine Mandel, director of radiology, WA Country Health Service, Australia

Dr. Catherine Mandel is director of radiology for WA Country Health Service. She also works as an MRI radiologist at Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, and as a radiologist at Lake Imaging. She is former secretary general of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Neuroradiology (ANZSNR) and was lead radiologist with the now-disbanded Radiology Events Register (RaER).

Dr. Luis MartĂ­-BonmatĂ­, PhD, director of medical imaging, La Fe University and Polytechnic Hospital, Valencia, Spain

Dr. Martí-Bonmatí is director of medical imaging at La Fe University and Polytechnic Hospital. Since 2012, he has been director of the Research Group on Biomedical Imaging (GIBI230) within La Fe Health Research Center. He is also scientific coordinator of the European Federation for Cancer Images (EUCAIM). He co-founded QUIBIM (Quantitative Imaging Biomarkers in Medicine), and was editor-in-chief of Insights into Imaging until he stepped down in January 2025.

Dr. Sergey Morozov, PhD, MPH, chief innovation officer, Osimis, Liège, Belgium

Dr. Sergey Morozov is chief innovation officer with the Belgian software developer Osimis. Until March 2022, he was the CEO and a professor at the Research and Practice Center of Medical Radiology in Moscow, as well as the chief radiology officer of Moscow. He is a past president of the European Society of Medical Imaging Informatics (EuSoMII).

Dr. Uzoma Nnajiuba, consultant radiologist, Liverpool University Hospital NHS Trust, U.K.

Dr. Uzoma Nnajiuba was appointed as a consultant radiologist with specialist interests in head & neck and chest radiology at Liverpool University Hospital NHS Trust in September 2020. He finished radiology training in Liverpool in 2021, subspecializing in head & neck, before going on to complete a post CCT Fellowship in Head & Neck Radiology at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital, London. He is co-founder of RadCast, the educational initiative.

Dr. Anagha Parkar, radiologist, Haraldsplass Diakonale Sykehus, Bergen, Norway

Dr. Anagha Parkar has been a staff radiologist at Haraldsplass Diakonale Sykehus since 2008. She was previously a staff radiologist at the Haukeland University Hospital in Bergen, having trained there from 2001 to 2006. She is president of the European Society of Thoracic Imaging and a former president of the ESR's Radiology Trainees Forum.

Dr. Filippo Pesapane has a keen interest in the practical applications of AI in breast imaging and understanding women's perceptions and attitudes toward the use of AI in breast cancer diagnosis. He had spells at Ghent University Hospital in Belgium; at the NIH in Bethesda, Maryland, U.S.; and at the King's College and Royal Marsden Hospitals in London.

Dr. Uliana Pidvalna, is associate professor in anatomy, Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University and a scientific consultant at the Ukrainian-Polish Heart Center Lviv. She was a European Radiology fellow in 2022, and has been a member of the Scientific Editorial Board of European Radiology since 2023. She is the Ukrainian representative on the ESR Education Committee and editor of the Ukrainian edition of the ESR's Modern Radiology E-Book.

Dr. Viktoria Pozdnyakova, consultant radiologist, Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust, Harlow, U.K.

Dr. Viktoria Pozdnyakova is a committee member of the ESR's Radiology Trainees Forum. She began working as a resident doctor at Stavanger University Hospital in 2015, having been a medical intern at Molde Regional Hospital in Hordaland County, Norway. In 2013 to 2014, she was a scientific researcher at the Norwegian Radium Hospital, Oslo, and a guest researcher at Winterthur Kantonspital in Switzerland.

Dr. Alexander Radbruch, JD, is an chair of diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology and professor at Rheinische Friedrich Wilhelms University Bonn, Germany. His area of expertise is new MRI contrast agents, contrast agent safety, and AI in radiology. He additionally holds a law degree and is interested in medicolegal issues.

Dr. Erik Ranschaert, PhD, past president of the European Society of Medical Imaging Informatics (EuSoMII)

Dr. Erik Ranschaert, PhD, is past president of EuSoMII and visiting professor at Ghent University in Belgium. He is actively involved in the NetZeroAICT.eu initiative. He was a co-founder of Eurad Consult, one of Europe's first teleradiology companies, and he also started EUFORA discussion groups for radiologists.

Dr. Peter Rinck, PhD, was senior research associate, State University of New York, Stony Brook, U.S., working with Dr. Paul C. Lauterbur, winner of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2003. He worked as adjunct professor at the University of Mons, Belgium, and professor of medical Imaging at the University of Trondheim, Norway. For his full bio, go to the TRTF website.


Soraya Robinson April 2025

Dr. Soraya Robinson, radiologist, Diagnose Zentrum Urania, Vienna

Dr. Soraya Robinson has worked as a general radiologist in the University Hospitals in Vienna and Helsinki, and is now based in a diagnostic center in Vienna. She is vice president of the European Society of Head and Neck Radiology and past chairman of the ESR Head and Neck Subcommittee. In February 2014, she was made a professor by the University of Vienna.

Dr. Mitja Rupreht, PhD, associate professor of radiology at Medical Faculty, University of Maribor, former head of radiology, University Medical Center Maribor, Slovenia

Dr. Mitja Rupreht has worked as a radiologist since 2004. He is an examiner at the national specialist exam board in Slovenia and an auditor of the Medical Chamber of Slovenia. He is a councilor and member of the Executive Committee of the ESSR. He is a Slovenian delegate at the ESR Quality, Safety, and Standards Committee, and president of the Professional Council for Imaging at the Slovenian Medical Society.

Dr. Rosana Santos is clinical director of the Diagnostic Imaging Center IMI/Affidea República, Lisbon. She is also group clinical education scientific lead and and deputy country clinical leader for Affidea Corporate. She is president of the College of Radiology/National Medical Association, Portuguese delegate for the UEMS' Section of Radiology, and editor for the Thoracic Section of Ata Radiológica Portuguesa (SPRMN).

Fatih Seker

Dr. Fatih Seker, neuroradiology fellow, Heidelberg University Hospital, Germany

Dr. Fatih Seker is a fellow at the department of neuroradiology at Heidelberg University Hospital. He is a coordinator of undergraduate neuroradiology lectures at Heidelberg University and a co-opted member of the undergraduate education subcommittee of the ESR. His research focuses on imaging in acute ischemic stroke and thrombectomy. Also, he is medical coordinator at the FAST stroke consortium, a stroke network in the Rhine-Neckar region in Germany.

Dr. Valentin Sinitsyn, PhD, is the chair of the radiology department at the Federal Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Moscow and director of the radiology course of the medical faculty at Moscow Lomonosov University. He was president of ECR 2014, a past president of the European Society of Cardiac Radiology (ESCR), and past president of the Russian National Congress of Radiologists.

Dr. Claudia Weidekamm organizes MSK courses in Vienna and Auckland, having worked as associate professor of radiology at the Medical University of Vienna. She has an MBA in healthcare services and is certified for quality management. She is a past chair of the arthritis and MSK ultrasound subcommittees of the Austrian Society of Ultrasound in Medicine.
