Belgian medical device company DoseVue has received the CE mark for its DoseWire Series 200 in-vivo dosimetry technology for radiation therapy.
Utilizing fiber optic filaments coated in a light-emitting material that fluoresces when exposed to radiation, DoseWire Series 200 provides real-time measurement of the actual dose delivered during radiation oncology procedures, according to the company. Its sensors can be positioned at up to four locations during procedures, including on the patient's skin or in natural and/or surgical cavities, the company said.
DoseWire 200 is suitable for a range of radiation therapy applications, including brachytherapy and intraoperative radiation therapy, according to the firm.
