Dr. Lucia Flors Blasco is a fine example of a global researcher who's going places. Having obtained her residency at the University of Valencia in Spain and passed the European Diploma in Radiology, she completed her fellowship at the University of Virginia in the U.S.
At the annual meeting of the European Society of Thoracic Imaging earlier this summer, Flors Blasco received a presitigious cum laude award for her group's CT research into severe emphysema. To read more about this study, click here.

The French congress of radiology, JFR, begins in Paris on 16 October, and a CT good practice guide is due to be launched at the meeting. Meanwhile, a multinational research group used CT to examine 31 patients with primary trachea and bronchus tumors, processing images with multiplanar reformatting, volume rendering, and virtual bronchoscopy techniques.
