The European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM) has released its 2025 Technologists' Guide. It includes an emphasis on nuclear medicine's role in women's health.
The guide covers timely nuclear medicine-related topics and aims to provide high-quality clinical, scientific, and educational material, noted the association. The booklet, available for download on the EANM's website, aims to assist radiographers in their clinical routine and support professionals working in the field of nuclear medicine.
The tech guide provides an overview of diagnostics, patient management, and therapeutic options for female patients. The EANM said that investing in and studying nuclear medicine specifically tailored to women’s health can help transform patient care.
One chapter in the guide covers technetium-99m (Tc-99m) as a potential diagnostic agent for imaging superficial peritoneal endometriosis. This has drawn praise from the clinical radiopharmaceutical company, Serac Healthcare. The company said it is "delighted" to see this recognized in the tech guide.
All chapters of the guide are created through volunteer contributions and undergo a peer review process, assembled by a multidisciplinary team of dedicated professionals.
The guide is available for downloading here.
