The Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) has collaborated with the British Society of Urogenital Radiology (BSUR) and Prostate Cancer UK to develop an educational package aimed at increasing the skills and confidence of clinical radiologists performing prebiopsy multiparametric MRI scans of the prostate.
The package includes online and in-person components, with clinical radiologists providing much of the content. The program includes a video webinar on MR imaging of the prostate, as well as an in-person workshop scheduled for 23 January at the Royal College of Radiologists' headquarters in London. The workshop will provide the opportunity for discussion with experts and to examine cases that demonstrate a variety of findings, the RCR said.
Prostate Cancer UK helped secure funding for two pilot initiatives to enable neighboring hospitals to maximize MRI capacity, aiming to deliver a diagnosis in just 20 days. Prostate Cancer UK has also brought together experts from relevant specialties to develop clinical, consensus-led standards for prebiopsy prostate MRI to be published later this year.
