Radiology research seed grant application window opens

The European Society of Radiology (ESR) and the European Institute for Biomedical Imaging Research have launched the ESR Research Seed Grant Global Programme’s 2025 call for proposals.

This is a unique funding opportunity to advance the future of radiology across Europe, Central Asia, and Africa, according to the ESR.

Projects should address sustainability in radiology in three ways:

  1. Green radiology (lowering the carbon footprint of imaging equipment, digital transformation, waste reduction, and sustainable contrast media)
  2. Cost-effective imaging (value-based approaches, protocol optimization, standardization, and quality assurance)
  3. Workforce sustainability (professional development, education, workflow automation, and retention strategies)

Up to three seed grants will be awarded in 2025, in the amount of €14,000 per project for up to 24 months. The deadline is 15 June 2025.

Check for eligibility requirements and more information on the ESR's website.
