The forum will bring together radiologists, medical historians, and representatives of related disciplines to reflect on the history of radiation protection and draw inspiration from it for the present and future of radiology, DRG said.
Program highlights include lectures on the history of science, panel discussions, and oral history presentations that illuminate personal experiences with radiation protection in different radiological eras. Furthermore, discussions will explore how responsibility, risk assessment, and patient safety were perceived in different historical contexts and what lessons can be learned for the future, DRG said.
Participants can also look forward to guided tours of the German Roentgen Museum and Roentgen's birthplace, as well as a presentation of the museum's experimental laboratory, the society noted.
