VIENNA -- Sustainability has suddenly shot up the agenda for radiology. What's driving this trend? How can radiologists achieve a meaningful reduction in their carbon footprint? And what research is being conducted in this area?
For answers, we caught up with the Belgian radiologist Dr. Erik Ranschaert at the end of ECR 2025. He is past president of the European Society of Medical Imaging Informatics (EuSoMII), visiting professor at Ghent University in Belgium, and a founding member of the Editorial Advisory Board of AuntMinnieEurope.com. He is also actively involved in the NetZeroAICT.eu initiative.
