Siemens targets 3.3B patient touchpoints by 2030

Siemens Healthineers has released its 2024 Sustainability Report.

The company highlighted its goal to achieve 3.3 billion patient touchpoints worldwide in 2030, including 1.25 billion patient touchpoints in low- and middle-income countries. A patient touchpoint is a measure of the number of times patients interact with systems, tests, or software, the company said.

In addition, Siemens plans to further reduce greenhouse gas scope 1 and 2 emissions in its operations by 90% by 2030 from its baseline in 2019 and is poised to achieve its target of having 30% of senior management roles held by women by 2025.

With the report, Siemens also said it is addressing pressing global crises using innovations in patient twinning; precision therapy; and digital, data, and AI.

Products referenced within the report include the Magnetom Free. platform, which can now be installed in places where MRI was previously not an option, and the Magnetom Sola eco system, which is designed to reduce emissions.

Moreover, the vendor provided 4 million hours of training for healthcare professionals and is on a path to reach 6 million hours by 2030.
