University Hospitals Nantes and Siemens Healthineers have entered a 12-year €55 million value partnership to advance diagnostic and interventional imaging at several hospitals in France.

PIMENT focuses on 13 public hospitals supported by the University Hospital in Nantes, the department’s main city. The deal includes installing and servicing new imaging equipment, collaborating on research and education allowing efficient purchasing, and improving sustainable operations.

University Hospital Nantes will move to a new main facility by 2027, Siemens noted, adding that the program calls for nine CT scanners, including the option of Siemens Healthineers photon-counting CT technology, and six MRI scanners, including helium-free. Planned installations for image-guided interventions include 30 mobile C-arms equipped with digital solutions as well as a further nine angiography systems supporting interventional neurology, cardiology, radiology, and surgery.

The PIMENT program also includes the creation of a laboratory for fundamental and applied research in medical imaging. Siemens Healthineers will provide seed funding to accelerate local research projects.
