Swedish PACS vendor Sectra said it has signed its first enterprise image management deal in South Africa, with the Pretoria-based radiology group of Drs. De Beer and De Jager.
With the deal, radiology services across the practice's multiple locations will benefit from more efficient sharing of images and workload, with access to patient histories regardless of site location, Sectra said. Eleven radiologists at the company's three main sites will use the software to review imaging exams from more than 30 modalities, the company said.
The contract includes Sectra's PACS, a vendor-neutral archive (VNA), and advanced visualization tools for 3D and anatomical linking as well as lesion tracking, the company said. These components are all available to the healthcare providers in South Africa through a distribution agreement with Tecumed Africa, Sectra said.
