Swedish PACS vendor Sectra has launched Sectra France, a new operation that will provide direct sales and services of its medical IT products to the French healthcare market.
As the French government's directive for region-wide cooperation within healthcare is placing high demands on consolidation of hospital IT systems, Sectra believes the time is now right for a more aggressive strategy in the French market, President and CEO Torbjörn Kronander noted in a statement.
The company had been participating in the French market via a partner since 2006 and has a large number of imaging IT installations around the country, Sectra said. In addition, Sectra in January purchased cloud-based image viewing software developer RxEye, which has an established network in France.
Sectra France will be led by President Audrey Boulinguez, who joins Sectra after a stint as senior market manager international for Philips Healthcare. She had also worked for Sectra's partner in France between 2006 and 2013, including serving as regional director for three years.
