Holographic imaging firm Holoxica has used diffusion-tensor imaging MRI and fiber tractography to develop a 3D digital hologram of human brain fiber connections.
Holoxica believes these types of holograms could be used by neurosurgeons and clinicians to identify, diagnose, and treat a wide range of neurological conditions. For example, the technology could be utilized to assess neuron disease in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)/motor neuron disease before clinical symptoms appear, according to the vendor. Holograms of medical images are also very effective for education, Holoxica said.
