Siemens Healthcare said it has won IT contracts valued at 50 million euros to implement its Soarian Clinicals hospital information system with electronic patient records in two Dutch academic hospitals.
The systems, representing one of the firm's largest contracts to date, will be installed at Erasmus University Medical Center Rotterdam and University Medical Center in Groningen, Siemens said.
Soarian Clinicals software gives hospital staff comprehensive access to the latest patient data within the constraints of data protection regulations, and allows clinical processes to be mapped, optimized, and organized digitally, making operations more transparent and efficient, according to the firm.
Installation work is scheduled to begin in April, with regular clinical operation expected to be in place by the end of 2015.
