Sectra has implemented an advanced visualization table at Université Claude Bernard in Lyon, France, bringing virtual medical technology to a university that it hopes will become a leader in visualization in medical training.
The visualization table is a large, multitouch medical display with software that enables interaction with 3D images of the human body based on CT or MRI data. According to the university, the table has the potential to take medical education to a new level of quality through the use of real cases, allowing a more contexualized approach to learning and teaching. The table will be used primarily for teaching anatomy, the university said.
The university has nearly 35,000 students from 125 countries, and its health science faculty includes the full spectrum of medical and paramedical professions, Sectra said.
