Affidea Group has acquired cancer care provider MedEuropa Romania and is highlighting the inauguration of a new MedEuropa cancer care center in Iași.
With a €15 million investment, the new center is equipped with two Elekta linear accelerators (Linacs), designed to offer advanced radiotherapy treatments. One of the linacs is the Versa HD, capable of precision stereotactic treatments with real-time respiratory monitoring. The other one is Elekta Infinity, which supports sophisticated IMRT/VMAT and electron therapies. The new facility in Iasi will also provide daily hospitalization for oncology patients, as well as consultations for cancer treatment.
The facility is designed with three bunkers, with the third ready to house additional equipment in the upcoming months. The team includes seven radiation oncologists, five medical physicists, and dedicated administrative staff. The new radiotherapy center in Iasi will be officially launched at the end of May, Affidea Group said.
