Affidea Group has agreed to acquire Nu-Med, a cancer care provider in Poland.
Nu-Med operates four medical centers across Poland: Elbląg, Katowice, Tomaszów Mazowiecki, and Zamość. It also runs four walk-in outpatient clinics in Bełchatów, Działdowo, Iława, and Ostróda.
Affidea said this acquisition will allow the two companies to further improve patient access to integrated cancer services, including prevention, supporting early diagnosis and cancer treatment. In Poland, cancer is the second most frequent cause of death, with more than 170,000 new cases detected and 100,000 deaths annually. New cases are expected to increase to 230,000 by 2030.
Completion of the purchase is subject to the approval of the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection.
