Dr. Daniel Paech of the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg has received the 2020 Walter Friedrich Prize for research on metabolic imaging techniques using 7-tesla MRI for neurological diseases, the German Röntgen Society (DRG) announced.
His work explores techniques that illuminate tumor biology at the subcellular protein level and the identification of metabolic metabolites in vivo, the DRG said.
The prize is endowed by the Society for Medical Radiology through the German X-ray Society and awards 2,500 euros to its winners. Paech will receive the award on 14 November as part of the virtual German Radiology Congress (RöKo) meeting's closing event.
