Sectra has been awarded enterprise imaging contracts to provide digital pathology services for two medical centers in Israel.
Sectra's digital pathology software has been sold to Hadassah Medical Center and Assuta Medical Center by Medi-Far Healthcare Solution, the company's distribution partner in Israel. With the software, pathologists at the facilities will be able to share digital images of tissue samples instead of physical glass slides.
The Hadassah Medical Center, located in Jerusalem, consists of two university hospitals and 120 clinics that perform about 40,000 pathology examinations per year. The Assuta Medical Center, located in Tel Aviv, has four hospitals that conduct roughly 160,000 pathology examinations per year.
The facilities will integrate Sectra's digital solution with their existing laboratory information systems and can use the scanner vendor of their choice. The company's pathology product is just one part of its unified, enterprise imaging offerings that stores medical images and multimedia for various medical specialties, noted the vendor.
