The British Institute of Radiology (BIR) announced today that it has revised its membership rates to an annual full membership fee of 60 pounds (66 euros) for all medical, scientific, and radiographer staff of grade 8a and below or for company personnel of equivalent salary.
For 5 pounds (5.5 euros) per month, members will receive online access to the U.K.'s monthly academic journal, the British Journal of Radiology; a hard copy of BJR News; online access to Imaging; discounts on books, journals, and attendance at BIR educational events; access to the BIR's Information Centre and support from its information specialist; and the opportunity to participate in specialist committees and working parties.
In addition, full membership is available to consultants and equivalent -- such as consultant radiologists, consultant oncologists and radiotherapists, and consultant scientists -- of grade 8b and higher for 170 pounds (187 euros).
According to the National Health Service, grade 8a healthcare providers earn approximately 45,000 pounds (50,000 euros).
