France's largest network of private radiologists, VIDI, held its annual convention and shareholder meeting on 4 October at France's national congress, Journées Francophones de Radiologie (JFR 2024). The convention welcomed new members, with guest of honor, Artus de Cormis, director of the national health insurance's (CNAM) department of care management and organization, presenting his views on the financialization of the healthcare system.
VIDI, which was established in 2017, also revealed its latest key figures which show that the network now has 75 member centers across 400 sites, comprising a total of 1,200 doctors and 4,400 employed staff. The network represents 23% of the country's private radiology sector and has a total of 450 heavy medical equipment units (CT and MRI). Member centers have an average of 16 doctors, and 23 centers have over 20 doctors. In 2019, the network had 41 centers, 700 doctors, and 3,500 employees.
Following its convention, VIDI held its first symposium at the JFR, titled "How is Vidi building the future of the radiology team 2030?", which included radiologists Drs. Laurent Verzaux, Benoît Hecquet (Océan Imagerie), Sébastien Novellas (Riviera Imagerie Médicale), and David Facon (Pictavix), as well as Fabien Voix, former president of the national association of electroradiology paramedical staff (Association Française du Personnel Paramedical d'Electroradiologie, AFPPE).
Later in November, the network will participate in the national scientific society of oncological radiotherapy (La Société Savante Française d'Oncologie Radiothérapie, SFRO) congress in Paris from 13 to 15 November. This event for oncology radiotherapy professionals will be an opportunity for radiotherapists to exchange views with VIDI radiologists.
