Esaote shows MRI, ultrasound upgrades at ECR 2013

MRI and ultrasound vendor Esaote introduce new technologies for its products at ECR 2013 in Vienna.

The company's MyLab ultrasound systems are now using eHD technology, representing a complete re-engineering process from image capture and processing to display interfaces. eHD features the eHD pulser, which creates an optimal ultrasound beam waveform for image clarity with no frame rate reduction. eHD has also been applied to Esaote's iQProbe to improve transducer bandwidth and deliver increased signal sensitivity.

The new technology's software reduces interference and delivers better visibility of internal structures and improved readability and diagnosis, according to the Italian company. Esaote's Doppler technology has been updated with the introduction of eHD CFM, which offers optimized vessel border detection with increased sensitivity and depth. For high-resolution high-definition work, eHD XFlow can maximize spatial resolution and Doppler signal penetration.

Another new technology, called eXP, has been integrated into Esaote's dedicated MRI systems to reduce scan times, overall power consumption, and operating costs. It is currently available on the G-Scan Brio system.

To increase the speed of image acquisition and reconstruction, eXP technology combines graphic processing unit (GPU) hardware with advanced software. Fast spin-echo (FSE) sequences can be acquired up to 40% faster with eXP technology, the company said.
