BIR appoints Claire Angus as chief executive

The British Institute of Radiology (BIR) has appointed Claire Angus as its chief executive.

Angus started in the new position on 1 September, succeeding Sara Purdy, who has held the position for the last three years.

Purdy’s tenure as chief executive included overseeing the launch of the BJR|Artificial Intelligence journal. 

Angus has most recently served as the director of membership and events at the U.K. Royal College of Podiatry (RCPod), and she has also worked at the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP). 

In addition, Angus serves in volunteer roles as a trustee and treasurer for a local women’s refuge and as a school governor.
