Molwitz, from the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, is the initiator of the RADUCATION project and has provided impetus for the further development of radiology staff, with her vision, innovative strength, and human depth, the DRG said in a statement issued on 4 June.

She was chair of the Forum Junge Radiologie from 2020 to 2024, where she was not only a central voice for young radiologists but also helped shape the strategic course of the professional society as a co-opted DRG board member, the society noted.

In addition, Molwitz has been active in scientific communication and journalism, as co-editor of the "radClub" section and member of the editorial committee of "RöFo - Advances in the field of x-rays and imaging techniques," the DRG noted.

The Albers-Schönberg Medal was donated to the DRG in 1932 in memory of the co-founder Heinrich Albers-Schönberg, who died in 1921. It is awarded every two years to members who are committed to the interests of radiology in an outstanding way.
