Albillos took the position on 5 March after a year of serving as the society's vice president. His goal is to "promote and improve the training of radiologists in the face of technological changes and the other changes that new medicine brings," and to "ensure technological renewal, so that radiology professionals have the most appropriate means to develop the profession in an environment of medicine that is changing every day," according to a SERAM statement.
"The challenges that radiology faces are many, but the main ones are to defend the profession and integrate artificial intelligence (AI) tools to be able to use them in a way that facilitates our work, which is increasingly complex, and for which they are necessary," he said in the statement.
