Preclinical imaging technology developer MR Solutions has installed its 7-tesla PET/MRI preclinical scanner in Israel for the first time.
The device is located at Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center's Wohl Institute for Translational Medicine in Jerusalem. The system features a large axial 15-cm field-of-view, which can be used to view the whole body of a rat or other subjects in molecular detail.
In addition, the PET module can be removed from within the magnet of the MRI system to create a larger bore for bigger research subjects. It can then be used independently as a separate imaging system, depending on the research requirements, or paired with MR Solutions' separate preclinical CT system for sequential PET/CT scans.
