Radiation oncology vendor Elekta has installed its Elekta Unity MR/radiation therapy (MR/RT) device at Tübingen University Hospital in Germany.
The technology allows clinicians to personalize radiation therapy for patients by visualizing and tracking the target tumors and surrounding tissue during treatment, according to the firm. The hospital imaged its first patients with the MR/RT device and prepared respective treatment plans on 19 June, after Elekta received the CE Mark for the device.
Elekta Unity is currently not available for commercial distribution or sale in the U.S.
