Ultrasound technology startup Clarius Mobile Health has received the CE Mark for its Clarius C3 and L7 smartphone-powered ultrasound scanners.
Compatible with iOS and Android smartphones and tablets, the Clarius scanners are designed for use by clinicians to perform quick scans and to guide short procedures at the bedside, according to the vendor. Clarius C3 is a multipurpose scanner designed to image the abdomen and lungs, but also incorporates a virtual phased array for fast scans of the heart, Clarius said. Clarius L7 is also suitable for guiding procedures and imaging superficial structures.
Both scanners have a magnesium case and can be submersed in water for cleaning and disinfection, according to the vendor. They also are powered by a rechargeable battery that can be exchanged when running low, Clarius said.
