Clarius has received clearance in Europe for seven new portable wireless ultrasound scanners for Apple and Android devices.
About the size of iPhones, this third generation of Clarius ultrasound scanners should make ultrasound affordable for more doctors across specialties in Europe, the company said. The scanners connect wirelessly to Apple and Android smart devices with an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered application designed to help clinicians make accurate diagnoses, Clarius said.
Clarius replaced the complex knobs and buttons found on traditional ultrasound systems with an application that uses AI and intuitive touch-based controls. In addition, the latest scanners are 30% lighter and smaller, the company added.
In addition, Clarius has introduced a new Clarius Membership bundle that makes the entry price lower and enables new users to fast-track ultrasound proficiency. Clarius HD3 wireless scanners now start at 2,875 euros with a 575-euro annual membership in Europe, or 2,440 pounds with a 490-pound annual membership in the U.K., the company said.
