Interventional Systems is launching a planning and navigation station as part of its Micromate portfolio that makes the company's miniature robot available for use in CT scanners.
Micromate is a miniature robotic platform for percutaneous procedures. The latest addition allows physicians to work with pre- and postoperative scans to plan interventions. Micromate's features fit into a 1-sq-meter console. The robot can be maneuvered from a distance and has a miniature, table-mounted camera, with the goal of reducing radiation exposure and saving space.
The company said the latest version of Micromate will become available in Europe in the second half of 2022. For the U.S. market, Interventional Systems expects to make it available in the third quarter of 2022, pending 510(k) certification.
