The Groupement de Coopération Sanitaire (GCS) e-Santé Healthcare Cooperative Association for e-Health has begun using a remote robotic ultrasound system developed by AdEchoTech to advance teleradiology.
The device, known as Melody, is installed at the University Hospital in Guadeloupe, which serves the islands of Marie-Galante, Les Saintes, and La DĂ©sirade off the coast of France. Melody allows a remote expert to control the ultrasound probe and have images returned in real time. It also enhances remote consultation so a patient can interact with a specialist.
The remote robotic system is particularly helpful in medically isolated areas where patients need an ultrasound for emergency tests, obstetric monitoring, or tracking diseases.
