Preclinical imaging technology developer MR Solutions has installed its MRS 3017 3-tesla cryogen-free MRI preclinical scanner at the NorLux Neuro-Oncology Laboratory in Luxembourg.
The international research center is part of the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH) and plans to use the preclinical scanner to advance cancer research with a focus on malignant brain tumors.
The MRS 3017 features a 17-cm bore and a small footprint approximately the size of a desk. Because it is cryogen-free, there is no need for an emergency liquid helium venting system.
It also can operate at various clinical field strengths and is adaptable for the addition of PET or SPECT to the system in the future.
