Radiation therapy firm Varian Medical Systems has received an order for another 20 TrueBeam systems by the U.K.'s National Health Service (NHS).
The order is part of an ongoing program to replace older machines and institute modern radiotherapy and radiosurgery treatments for patients in the U.K.'s public hospitals. The order also includes 10 PerfectPitch treatment couches and 50 licenses for Varian's RapidArc image-guided intensity-modulated radiotherapy treatment technology and Eclipse radiotherapy treatment planning software.
Under the terms of the deal, NHS hospitals across the country will take delivery of TrueBeam systems through the NHS Supply Chain, which follows similar orders from the NHS Supply Chain in 2013 and 2014, when a total of 30 TrueBeam systems were ordered.
