French ultrasound firm SuperSonic Imagine unveiled a new ultrasensitive microvascular imaging technology at the French Radiology Congress, Journées Françaises de Radiologie (JFR 2015).
SuperSonic said its new AngioPL.U.S. Planewave UltraSensitive imaging represents a significant advancement in color Doppler imaging because conventional Doppler is limited in its ability to show microvascular slow flow. AngioPL.U.S. significantly improves color sensitivity and spatial resolution to visualize flows that couldn't be seen before, SuperSonic said.
The technique will be available on the company's Aixplorer to provide detailed real-time information on microvascularization and vessel flow in areas including the breast, lymph nodes, thyroid, and liver. The technique can also be used in musculoskeletal assessment to identify low-grade tendon inflammation, the company added.
