Proton Partners International has unveiled the site of its first proton-beam therapy cancer treatment center to be established in England.
The center will be Proton Partner International's second in the U.K., and will be built in Bomarsund, Northumberland. The company expects the facility to begin treating patients in early 2017.
The firm's first proton-beam therapy cancer treatment site is in Newport, Wales; its third will be in London. Each center will treat up to 700 patients per year, Proton Partners International said.
Proton Partners International is a private firm based in Wales.
