Radiation oncology firm Varian Medical Systems said its RapidPlan treatment planning software was used in its first radiotherapy treatment at a cancer center in the U.K.
A 76-year old man with prostate cancer received intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) at Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford, U.K., after RapidPlan was utilized to plan and guide the process, Varian said.
