The German Ministry of Education and Research has announced a multipronged campaign to make Germany a business hub for the international healthcare industry.
It has launched Health-Made in Germany, an initiative to create win-win situations for global partners and German healthcare companies. The initiative allows companies, federal clusters, and professional associations to benefit from business opportunities in the healthcare field. Germany Trade and Invest, the country's foreign trade and investment promotion agency, is managing the initiative.
Forty million euros ($52 million U.S.) for biotechnology research also is being made available by Germany's Ministry of Education and Research. The country is hoping this will attract new businesses and consolidate its position as a leading medical biotechnology location.
