Nucletron sells brachy unit to U.K. lab

Radiation therapy firm Nucletron has sold a Flexitron brachytherapy afterloader to the National Physical Laboratory, the U.K.'s measurement institute located in Teddington.

Flexitron has a 40-channel configuration and a zero-reference source positioning system that defines well positions in absolute value. Nucletron, an Elekta company, said these features enable the product to treat both very large and very small tumors without reconnections in 1-mm steps. Furthermore, no additional measures or manual recalculations are required.
