BridgeHead Software has launched an upgraded version of its vendor-neutral archive (VNA) package.
The upgrade improves the way BridgeHead's VNA offering handles DICOM images, providing hospitals and partners with broader support for the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) Cross-Enterprise Document Sharing for Imaging (XDS-I) profile, according to the firm. For example, it can now publish images to an XDS interoperability framework and aid the retrieval of those imaging documents across a group of affiliated enterprises using Web Access to DICOM Objects (WADO), BridgeHead said.
In other enhancements, BridgeHead's VNA can also be installed in a Windows cluster.
