GE HealthCare (GEHC) will collaborate with University Medicine Essen in Germany to establish a new Theranostics Center of Excellence.
The center will support the use of theranostics in clinical practice and advance research on more personalized approaches to cancer care, GEHC said.
GEHC will provide equipment for the university’s new radiotracer development center, including a cyclotron, synthesizer, and lab. The vendor will also install a new Omni Legend 32cm PET/CT scanner, a SIGNA PET/MR scanner, and several SPECT/CT systems, including StarGuide, NM/CT 870 DR, and NM 830. These systems will have AI software to enhance image acquisition, including MIM Software’s suite of imaging analytics and digital workflow algorithms.
In addition, GE HealthCare is collaborating with nuclear medicine physicians at the university to develop a new total-body PET/CT scanner, the company said.
