An increase in sales of its ProteusOne proton therapy system helped Ion Beam Applications (IBA) achieve nearly 20% growth in revenues for the first half of 2016.
For the period (end-30 June), IBA recorded revenues of 145.1 million euros, up 19.9% compared with the 121 million euros reported in the first half of 2015. IBA had first-half net income of 8.3 million euros, down from 14.5 million euros a year ago. The company attributed the decline in earnings to large nonrecurring income in the prior period.
In first-half highlights, IBA received 143.6 million in orders in the first half of 2016, up 30.5% from the first half of 2015. Orders included three ProteusOne and eight ProteusPlus rooms, eight other accelerators, and more than 13 million euros in upgrades, according to the firm. IBA said it's on track to meet its 2016 financial guidance.
