Siemens Healthineers announces major expansion in Bavaria

Siemens Healthineers will be spending approximately 60 million euros over the next three years to expand and upgrade its production plant in Kemnath, Germany.

The factory in Bavaria will be expanded to support the manufacturing of linear accelerators from the company's Varian radiation oncology subsidiary in the future, according to the vendor. In addition, Siemens will construct a new workshop and install new software and equipment to enhance in-house training. All buildings will also receive upgraded energy systems.

Up to 50 new jobs will be created as part of the expansion project, Siemens said.
