Fujfilm Medical Systems has launched a new line of dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) systems in the U.K.
The new devices include FDX Visionary-A, a pencil-beam system designed for osteoporosis diagnosis and fracture risk assessment. In addition, FDX Visionary-DR is a fan-beam system for enhanced diagnostic capability, better image quality, and quicker exams, according to the company.
Both systems feature multisite osteoporosis diagnosis, fracture risk assessment, and morphometric tools, as well as pediatric and orthopedic modules. FDX Visionary-DR also offers new bone density analysis technology and enhanced accuracy compared with wide fan-beam technology, Fujifilm said.
FDX Visionary-A also performs imaging at 60 seconds per site and four minutes for whole-body exams, according to Fujifilm, while FDX Visionary-DR imaging is performed in 15 seconds per site.
