Based on our list of top 10 articles for 2016, the single most important issue facing European radiologists was the ongoing debate over the safety of gadolinium-based contrast agents for MRI.
This topic created a considerable buzz at ECR 2016, soon after which the European Medicines Agency began its review of the risk of gadolinium deposition in brain tissue. The outcome of this eagerly awaited investigation is expected in early 2017, and it's no surprise to see the issue feature so prominently in our lineup.
