Ultrasound technology developer SuperSonic Imagine has released a major new software upgrade for its Aixplorer ultrasound platform that includes a new breast scanning package and other enhancements.
The new software release includes enhancements for improved performance, workflow, and efficiency, according to the company.
The new breast package is designed to be a complete solution for global breast imaging and detailed examination of breast anatomy. Probes available with the package now include a new high-frequency SL18-5 probe and a specialty SLH20-6 probe that has been optimized for breast imaging.
SuperSonic is highlighting the utility of the package with the company's other technologies, including shear-wave elastography (SWE), 3D ultrasound combined with SWE for creating 3D color-coded elasticity maps of tissue stiffness, and the company's TriVu mode, which shows breast anatomy, flow, and tissue stiffness on a single screen.
The company also announced that its Angio PL.U.S. mode, launched last year with a focus on breast and thyroid imaging, now includes abdominal, vascular, and gynecologic applications. Angio PL.U.S. is a color Doppler mode that provides a new level of microvascular imaging through better color sensitivity and spatial resolution while maintaining 2D image quality, according to the company. Angio PL.U.S. is now available on the XC6-1 abdominal transducer for supplying additional information for the evaluation of organs such as liver or kidneys.
Finally, SuperSonic is now offering a dedicated package for research use that enables researchers to perform preclinical or clinical research with modes such as SWE.
