The U.K.'s National Health Service (NHS) has named Agfa HealthCare as one of its approved suppliers in the Shared Business Services Healthcare Clinical Information Systems Framework.
The four-year, 1.25 billion pound framework, which will run initially from February 16, 2015, to February 15, 2019, aims to simplify the healthcare IT systems tender process for healthcare providers, Agfa said. NHS providers can have minicompetitions among the 26 approved suppliers to meet their specific requirements.
Agfa's ORBIS enterprise-wide software was approved under the framework for five of the six "lots" or product domains: core healthcare clinical information systems, integrated emergency care systems, theater systems, maternity systems, and electronic prescribing systems. The four-year framework can also be extended by up to two additional years, according to the firm.
