Ultrasound technology developer SuperSonic Imagine has introduced its single-crystal curved XC6-1 ultrasound probe and also released several new enhancements for its Aixplorer ultrasound platform.
XC6-1 works with Aixplorer and brings performance and image quality improvements via enhanced wide-bandwidth imaging and higher resolution and clarity, according to the vendor. It offers advanced imaging capabilities for exams such as abdominal and pelvic assessments, SuperSonic said.
XC6-1 improves spatial and contrast resolution, and its single-crystal technology offers deeper penetration and higher efficiency, even in technically challenging patients, according to the firm. SuperSonic said that Aixplorer's ShearWave elastography (SWE) method has also been further optimized on the XC6-1.
In other SuperSonic news, the company has released additional upgrades to Aixplorer, including a full reoptimization of all imaging modes and enhancements to ShearWave. A new reporting tool automatically calculates relevant stiffness parameters for evaluating stages of liver fibrosis.
