GE gets CE Mark for breast tomosynthesis product

GE Healthcare has received the CE Mark for its SenoClaire breast tomosynthesis package.

Powered by GE's ASiRDBT technology, SenoClaire employs a low-dose short x-ray sweep around the positioned breast; nine exposures are acquired with a "step-and-shoot" method, which removes potential motion from images, according to the vendor. GE's Senographe Essential and Senographe Care digital mammography platforms can be upgraded with SenoClaire.

SenoClaire shipments have begun in Europe, the Middle East, Australia, and Latin America, GE said.
