Speech recognition software developer Nuance Communications and Emerging Technologies, its implementation partner in Saudi Arabia, announced that King Fahd University Hospital of Dammam University has purchased Dragon Medical 360|Network Edition for hospital-wide use.
More than 550 clinicians are expected to use the software at the 600-bed hospital.
Emerging Technologies is working closely with King Fahd University's hospital information system vendor, QuadraMed, providing deployment, training, and support services for the speech recognition system implementation. Dragon Medical will be deployed in a single, coordinated rollout within an eight-week time frame.
The sale is the first site-license installation of Dragon Medical in the Middle East, Nuance said.
